Our wedding was captured so perfectly by the amazing talent of Karissa Roe at Karissa Roe Photography. Having such beautiful photos to look back on to remember this day is priceless.
Our day was fairytale inspired so a first look photo shoot in the woods was the perfect choice. We found a venue in Everett, WA called Floral Hall that was located in Forest Park. It worked out great because it is surrounded by woods, and offered a gorgeous wooden indoor venue (which is a big plus when you live in Washington State). It’s the best of both worlds!
We opted for first look photos before our ceremony. It was a special moment for us to share, and a moment for just the two of us before joining everyone for the rest of wedding day.
The ceremony was intimate and consisted of about 30 of our closest friends and family. The music throughout the whole ceremony was Disney instrumentals, put together flawlessly by our talented D.J. Disco Vinnie. Our candle lighting ceremony in front of the big brick fire-place made our intimate ceremony warm and romantic. I walked down the aisle to “Tale as Old as Time” from beauty and the beast (which made me cry instantly…along with everyone else).
We then read the vows we each wrote for each other. This was so special and a moment I will never forget. I happen to be married to a writer which gave me a lot to live up to, but we both had similar things to say to each other. We kissed and we walked down the aisle as Mr. & Mrs. to the tossing of glitter (pixie dust) and “Fantastic Exit Music” from the Disney Fantasmic show.
Our bridal party joined us for a grand entrance to "Star Wars IV-A New Hope Ending Theme". We then enjoyed an open reception where our additional guests joined us. We ate a much-needed meal of Chinese food (this is what we ate on our first date), and a lovely toast with a speech from the best man. Cake cutting followed and it was hard to cut in to our perfect cake make by our Aunt’s mom Sheila (she is seriously so talented!).
We decided to head to a nearby beach to take some additional photos. We missed the sunset but Karissa was able to capture some twilight photos which I believe turned our more amazing than I could have imagined!
Happily Ever After
We got back with an hour to enjoy the rest of the reception. We danced the night away with our amazing bridal party and had SUCH a blast. If only dancing could have lasted for for hours! Vinnie knows how to bring out the dance moves!
The day went perfectly smooth and we couldn’t have asked for anything more, but we couldn’t have done it without the help of our loved ones! We are so happy to finally be married, and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
